It was eye candy overload at this year’s HomeArama in Charlotte.
The Cheval community is nestled in the quaint town of Mint Hill, North Carolina and boasts hundreds of acres of walking trails, parks, and equestrian facilities.
From the minute you drive through the gates, you forget you are just minutes from busy city life.
We enjoyed everything about our visit there on Friday for the opening of 2015 HomeArama: the architecture, the scenery, the design aesthetic; and the food and drinks were pretty great too!
I could have filled up my camera roll with pictures; but I was too distracted by soaking it all in, that I only snapped a few of my favorite moments.
And forgive the wobbly, out of focus iPhone pictures. To be honest, I wasn’t even planning to blog about this – I was just gathering ideas for our renovation. It really is a bad idea to go look at million dollar homes when you’re right smack dab in the middle of your own renovation. It could blow a budget in NO time!
But these should suffice in showing you the trends that I fell in love with this year:
1. Gorgeous Trim work and Unique Coffered Ceilings
Loved the painted wood inside this coffered ceiling
I also like the look of the wall color cut to 50% for the coffered ceiling.
2. Unique Features
The weathered wood on this barrel ceiling is everything!
I’m afraid this dog’s room might be nicer than our son’s current nursery 😉
I’m kicking myself for not taking a picture of what was behind that door that Michael is about to walk through. It’s a SCULLERY, y’all! A kitchen behind a kitchen- complete with a warming oven, an extra refrigerator, a sink & prep station. OH and a desk as well!
And when those doors are closed, it looks like one complete cabinetry wall. Guests will never know your catering staff is back there prepping food.
A well stocked bar in the entertainment room – always a good idea!
3. Stunning tile and marble choices
Wonderful tile choices for a boy’s bathroom.
Leathered marble on a 10×10 island! HUGE!
Hand painted tile in the master shower
Loved the ceramic subway tile with the extra glossy finish for the kids’ bath.
My favorite shower by far!
Cheers to the talented designers and builders who made this year’s HomeArama such a success!
