It’s true… I have such a weakness for driftwood lately. Everything about it is just completely refreshing …the color, the texture, the nostalgia – SOO irresistible. Mostly though, I think my favorite part is rescuing these little gems on the shores of the lake and finding the perfect new home for them.
Honestly, some of my favorite memories of the summer were taking nice, long canoe rides with Michael, searching for these little treasures. Some nights, I wasn’t quite sure we’d all make it home safely. The driftwood was piled (and I do mean piled).
Here”s a “before” picture of a driftwood hunt about to commence. (Notice if you will, who is relaxing with a drink in hand and who’s doing all of the work.) I promise I helped him on the way back.
Here are just a few of the projects we’ve made so far.
(Now really ya’ll know…when I say “we” here I mean Michael.)
But he’s sweet to let me take some of the credit.
